Made from reinforced polypropylene, the Urban Chair from IKEA is a cheaper and slightly similar version of the Air-Chair designed by Jasper Morrison in 1999 for Magis. Like the Air-Chair, the Urban Chair is also stackable to save space and has a hole in the seat to drain water off — so it can be used outdoors. Available in green (as shown above), red (it's more of a dark orange color) and white.

As soon as I saw this sleek kitchen scale designed by Stefano Giovannoni, I thought of my childhood — around the age of seven — obsession with extra large calculators; I didn't need a calculator with a big display and big keys, but I wanted one more than I wanted to go to Disneyland. Honestly I don't think kitchen scales are necessary at all, but this Alessi one would be a lovely addition to any cook's collection. Made of 18/10 stainless steel and thermoplastic resin. The display is LCD with backlight.

"The bakers at Di Camillo Bakery brush long sheets of dough with extra virgin olive oil, sprinkle a bit of black pepper and finally dust with corn meal. Slow baking makes these wonderful flat breads extra crispy, for a bread that holds up to spreads, cheeses, pate and is equally delicious on its own."
